The Magic of Reiki

You would be curious to know howReiki works and what it feels like to both practitioner and patient.
Each person reacts in a different way to Reiki. Since it works where the recipient need it most, no general rule can be said to exist. Some recepients of Reiki admitted that they had never experienced such a deep sense of relaxation in their whole life and some said that they were filled with a feeling of peace and serenity. A gentleman said that his legs prickled all the time and he got very restless. A lady saw many images, wonderful landscapes and colors.
Reiki treatment is done by laying hands gently on the various parts of the body with fingers closed tight. The recipient soon feels a kind of flowing sensation, often combined with a sensation of warmth, which can turn into heat or become quite cold. The patient will often feel the flowing as noticeably as practitioners do, as well as the sensation of hot and cold. On some occasions, he will also sense warmth at a different part of the body than where we feel it, or what he experiences as warmth it cold for us.
But, if a thermometer is placed between the practitioner's hands and the patient's body it will not register a noticeable change in temperature. Obviously, the change that is experienced as taking place, cannot be measured physically.
Many Reiki recipients fall asleep during treatment, but this won't make any difference in the effects of treatment. A release of emotions can occur and tears will flow or a laugh of relief will be released. It has also been known for experiences of a strongly visual character to occur; this may take on a visionary character in the case of people who regularly practise a form of meditation. It can also occur that a series of treatment will bring about dissolution of inner barriers which had been blocking holistic growth in a person.
When a healer lays hands on the patient's body in order to link him to the energy of Reiki, it won't merely affect him on the material plane but will involve him in his entirety of spirit, body and mind. Physical illness or weakness is only the bodily expression of lack of basic order, a sign of having fallen out of a state of inner union with all life.
Reiki will bring you a decisive step closer to an original state of order. Reiki energycannot be explained along the usual lines of therapeutic thinking. When someone is treated with Reiki, he is brought back into a state of unity with the harmony of the universe. This harmony, which is able to reach him in this smallest of cells, makes him whole and healthy again, the patient can heal himself by utilizing his natural ability.
Reiki opens new doors for us, it leads us to a state of wholeness. Some people start to meditate or practice some other kind of spiritual method. Others will change their eating habits or their approach towards life or even try to become Reiki practitioners themselves. Some patients will become aware of problems that had been repressed all along and find solutions for them. It is not seldom that a person will take certain bold and new steps or develop the wish to change something in life. A patient should follow these positive impulses for his own good.
If one starts Reiki he will notice that the effects of treatment may differ from what he had been expecting.
Reiki has its own way or formula, knowing where and to what extent it is required. For this reason, it is not necessary to make a diagnosis before treatment, a fact that spares us no few mistakes. Every now and then patients come with certain complaints only to discover after treatment that other things have helped him a lot which looked insignificant in the beginning.
